Lane Roberts’ Announcement…

I am announcing my candidacy for Presiding Commissioner of Jasper County.  The Jasper County Commission has done an excellent job on behalf of the citizens of Jasper County.  Our county roads and bridges are among the best in the state.  Our county buildings and facilities have been updated and well maintained without sacrificing their historic integrity.  The county budget is reasonable, prudent and responsible.  My intention is to ensure that we protect and enhance the quality of life we have come to enjoy as citizens of Jasper County.

The Presiding Commissioner is the chief executive of the county.  The role involves a combination of administrative, financial, and representative duties, including presiding over meetings of the commission.
